September
Program: Paris - Lille - Brussels
Day
1 - Fri 5: Departure from the US or Canada.
Day
2 - Sat 6: Paris. Arrival. Transfer to hotel. Welcome dinner at the
famous Café de la Paix across from the Garnier Opera House.
Day
3 - Sun 7: Paris. Morning:
panoramic city tour including Place de la Concorde, Champs Elysées, Invalides,
Notre Dame Cathedral and the Bastille Opera backstage. Afternoon: optional visit
to the Orsay Museum, which has the largest collection of Impressionnist paintings
in the world. Evening at leisure.
Day
4 - Mon 8: Paris.
Morning: visit to the Louvre museum. Afternoon at leisure. 7:30 pm: performance
of Tchaikovsky's opera "Eugène Onéguine"
at the Garnier Opera House by Moscow's Bolchoi Theatre.
Day
5 - Tue 9: Paris. Morning
at leisure. Afternoon visit to La Cité de la Musique (a modern center dedicated
to the world of music) with a guided visit of the Music Museum, which shows the
evolution of Europe's musical history from the Renaissance to the late 20th century.
Then visit the nearby Cité des Sciences et de l'Industrie. Dinner at the
Relais des Buttes.
Day 6 - Wed 10: Paris. Morning:
optional visit to the Orangerie Museum. Afternoon at leisure. 7.30 pm: performance
by the New York City Ballet at the Bastille
Opera. Ballet director: Peter Martins.

7 - Thu 11: Paris, Lille, Brussels.
Morning departure to Lille, the capital of French Flanders and one of the largest
cities in northern France. Panoramic visit of the historical center with its Flemish
baroque houses and its citadel. On to Brussels. 7:30 pm: performance of Debussy's
opera "Pelléas et Mélisande"
at the Théatre Royal de la Monnaie.
Day
8 - Fri 12: Brussels.
Morning: panoramic city tour, including Grand Place, Palais de Justice and Palais
des Beaux-Arts. Afternoon at leisure. Dinner at Aux Armes de Bruxelles.

9 - Sat 13: Brussels, Paris.
Morning departure to Paris. Afternoon at leisure. Farewell dinner at Le Procope,
Paris' oldest restaurant, which is located in the historical district of St. Germain
des Prés.

visit to the Louvre museum. Afternoon: optional visit to the Picasso Museum. Evening:
cruise on the River Seine with views of brightly illuminated world-famous Parisian
landmarks.

departure to Brussels. Lunch at Aux Armes de Bruxelles. Afternoon: panoramic city
tour, including the Grand Place, Palais de Justice and Palais des Beaux Arts.
7:30 pm: performance of Rossini's opera "La Cenerentola"
at the Théâtre Royal de la Monnaie.

6 - Wed 22: Brussels, Amsterdam. Morning: drive to Amsterdam. Afternoon:
cruise along Amsterdam's canals. 7:30 pm: performance of Moussorgsky's opera "Boris
Goudonov" at the Deneder Landse Opera.

7 - Thu 23: Amsterdam, Paris. Morning:
visit the Rijksmuseum to admire famous paintings by the Dutch masters. Lunch on
your own. Afternoon: departure to Paris.

8 - Fri 24: Paris. Morning
at leisure. Early afternoon visit to La Cité de la Musique (a modern center
dedicated to the world of music) with a guided visit of the Music Museum, showing
